La Latina is one of the most genuine and old neighbourhoods of Madrid, in fact, nearly the whole Habsburg Madrid is between its limits.
The neighbourhood is characterised by the maze of narrow streets that follow the water flow and the busy squares of medieval origin, where you can still breathe that air of the old Madrid, with taverns installed in what used to be city walls.
Nowadays, La Latina is a Bohemian neighbourhood filled with charming corners to discover, and is the preferred setting by locals to have some tapas.
The “tapeo” is nearly mandatory in this area, where you can have some great tapas and raciones together with a nice and fresh beer until well into the night.
